La DeLorean de l’Association nous envoie faire un bond de 58 ans dans le passé, pour nous plonger dans le tournoi du printemps 1968.
Parmi les faits marquants, on retiendra que ce fut la dernière compétition du 50e yokozuna Sadanoyama (2-4-9). Hanada, le père des futurs Grands champions Wakanohana et Takano-hana, faisait ses débuts en Juryo. À la fin de la quinzaine, le M8 Wakanami remportait la seule coupe de l’Empereur de sa carrière sur le score de 13-2.
Vingt-et-un matchs sont présentés dans cette vidéo pour la journée d’ouverture. Vous pouvez regarder par exemple les premières générations : Tochiazuma (13:11), Yutakayama (19:15) et Kotozakura (20:23). Kitanofuji (21:22) et Tamanoshima (22:28) étaient encore ozeki, tandis que lz M4 Takamiyama (23:41) se heurtait à la 47e corde blanche, Kashiwado.

The Association's DeLorean takes us on a 58-year leap into the past, immersing us in the spring 1968 tournament.
Among the highlights, it was the last competition for the 50th yokozuna Sadanoyama (2-4-9). Hanada, the father of future Grand champions Wakanohana and Takanohana, made his Juryo debut. At the end of the fortnight, M8 Wakanami won the only Emperor's cup of his career with a score of 13-2.
Twenty-one bouts are featured in this video for opening day. You can watch, for example, the first generations: Tochiazuma (13:11), Yutakayama (19:15) and Kotozakura (20:23). Kitanofuji (21:22) and Tamanoshima (22:28) were still ozeki, while M4 Takamiyama (23:41) faced the 47th white rope, Kashiwado.
