Événement inédit : la tournée d'octobre des rikishi débutera un mardi ! En tout juste 20 jours, ils sillonneront 4 régions, 14 préfectures et 19 villes pour aller au contact de leurs fans dans tout l'archipel.
A first: the rikishi’s October tour will kick off on a Tuesday! In just 20 days, they will travel through 4 regions, 14 prefectures and 19 towns to meet their fans across the archipelago.

La toute dernière étape de la tournée d’octobre a tenu toutes ses promesses en matière de spectacle : le chignon traditionnel (oichomage) d'Abi, les chants à six voix (jinku), le combat humoristique (shokkiri) ainsi que la présentation de la corde blanche (tsuna) d’Onosato.
Sur le dohyo, l'entraînement a été plutôt calme. Peu de sekitori se sont affrontés lors de combats de préparation, la plupart préférant se concentrer sur les fondamentaux.
On a notamment pu apercevoir Takayasu guider ses camarades sur des exercices d'assouplissement, tandis qu'Hoshoryu semblait échanger sur la tactique (photo avec Ura).
L'atmosphère était plus légère du côté d'Onosato, en pleine discussion baseball avec Takerufuji.
La journée s'est clôturée avec la danse rituelle de l'arc (yumitori-shiki), exécutée par Hakuryu.
Ce soir, l'ensemble de la caravane met le cap au sud-ouest vers Fukuoka pour y découvrir, dès demain à 6:00 JPT, le nouveau banzuke. Il faudra compter environ deux heures de route pour parcourir les 144 km qui les en séparent.

The very last stop of October's tour kept all its promises in terms of entertainment: Abi's traditional topknot (oichomage), the six-man songs (jinku), the humorous fight (shokkiri) as well as the presentation of Onosato's white rope (tsuna).
On the dohyo, the session was rather calm. Few sekitori competed in training fights, most preferring to focus on the basics.
Takayasu could be seen guiding his mates on flexibility exercises, while Hoshoryu seemed to discuss tactics (photo with Ura).
The atmosphere was lighter on Onosato's side, in the middle of a baseball discussion with Takerufuji.
The day ended with the bow-twirling ceremony (yumitori-shiki), performed by Hakuryu.
Tonight, the entire caravan heads southwest to Fukuoka to discover, tomorrow at 6:00 JPT, the new banzuke. It will take about two hours to travel the 144 km that separate them.

Le programme de samedi proposait d'abord une session de questions-réponses animée par Fujinokawa, Takayasu et Shodai.
À l'issue des combats des divisions inférieures Jonidan > Makushita, Tobizaru est monté sur le dohyo pour une démonstration de l'oichomage (le chignon traditionnel).
La journée s'est poursuivie avec les chants (jinku) interprétés à six voix, le spectacle comique du shokkiri, puis la présentation de la tsuna (la corde blanche) d'Onosato.
Du côté des entraînements matinaux, la condition physique de Hoshoryu (écurie Tatsunami) progresse nettement jour après jour. Il a conclu sa séance sur un bilan positif de 7 victoires pour 3 défaites contre Ura (photo), avant que Takayasu ne se porte volontaire pour la scène éprouvante de butsukari (exercices de poussée) face au yokozuna.
En fin de journée, Akatora a fait son retour pour exécuter la cérémonie du yumitori-shiki (la danse de l'arc).
Demain marquera l'ultime étape de cette tournée automnale : cap sur Ube, dans la préfecture de Yamaguchi, située à environ 150 km au sud-ouest (soit deux heures de route).

Saturday's program first featured a Q&A session moderated by Fujinokawa, Takayasu and Shodai.
At the end of the battles of the lower divisions Jonidan > Makushita, Tobizaru climbed on the dohyo for a demonstration of the oichomage (the traditional topknot).
The day continued with the songs (jinku) performed in six voices, the comic show of the shokkiri, then the presentation of Onosato's tsuna (the white rope).
In the morning sessions, Hoshoryu (Tatsunami stable) is improving significantly day by day. He finished with a positive record of 7 wins and 3 losses against Ura (photo), before Takayasu volunteered for the gruelling scene of butsukari (pushing exercises) alongside the yokozuna.
At the end of the day, Akatora returned to perform the yumitori-shiki (bow-twirling ceremony).
Tomorrow will mark the final stop on this autumn tour: head for Ube, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, located about 150 km to the southwest (a two-hour drive).

Encore un jour bien discret sur la tournée d’automne... Seule certitude : 3,300 personnes ont fait le déplacement.
Côté animations, Abi a remis à l’honneur la démonstration de l’oichomage (le chignon traditionnel, photo), absente ces derniers jours.
Le programme s’est poursuivi avec un jinku (chants) à six voix, du shokkiri (match comique), puis la présentation de la corde blanche d’Onosato en fin de matinée. Asazenshin est venu sceller l’événement avec le yumitori-shiki (la danse de l’arc).
Plus tôt dans la matinée, Ichiyamamoto, Hakunofuji et Wakamotoharu se sont prêtés au jeu des combats contre les enfants, sous le regard attentif d'autres sekitori comme Fujiryoga et Aonishiki, en pleine préparation au bord du ring.
Demain, cap sur Hiroshima pour l’avant-dernière étape de cette tournée automnale, située à environ 1,5 heure de route (120 km vers l’ouest).

L’étape d’Okayama a rassemblé près de 7000 spectateurs, accueillis dès l’ouverture par Asanoyama, Ichiyamamoto et Ura.
Bien que les détails de la journée de mercredi soient rares, un moment marquant s’est produit juste après les dohyo-iri avec la prestation du chanteur enka Tetsuji Kimura, invité à interpréter l’hymne national.
Parmi les temps forts figurait la présence du favori local Daigozakura (écurie Takadagawa), pensionnaire de la quatrième division Sandanme. Avec d’autres lutteurs natifs de la région, ils ont sensibilisé le public à la prévention de la criminalité.
Si la démonstration du chignon traditionnel (oichomage) manquait de nouveau à l’appel, Onosato a remplacé Hoshoryu pour présenter la corde blanche des yokozuna, s'insérant entre le jinku (chants) et le shokkiri (match comique). Le yumitori-shiki (danse de l'arc) par Hakuryu a clos l'événement.
Le tour se poursuit dès demain à Wake, deuxième des trois haltes dans la préfecture d’Okayama, située à environ 40 km au nord-est (soit une cinquantaine de minutes de route).

The tour continues tomorrow in Wake, the second of three stops in Okayama Prefecture, located about 40 km to the northeast (about fifty minutes drive).

Bien qu'aucune démonstration de coiffure traditionnelle (oichomage) n'ait eu lieu aujourd'hui, les autres animations étaient bien au rendez-vous : chants jinku, comédie burlesque shokkiri et présentation de la corde blanche d'Hoshoryu.
La surprise du jour est venue de Kotoeiho (écurie Sadogatake), qui a rejoint le groupe à l'improviste. Pour les torikumi de l'après-midi, les officiels ont décidé de l'associer à Daieisho.
La journée est restée plutôt calme pour Takayasu. Le vétéran de 36 ans s'est d'abord exercé aux côtés d'Atamifuji et de Fujiseiun, avant de s'entraîner en solo pendant une trentaine de minutes (photo) :
"En tournée, il est très facile de négliger les fondamentaux. Mes jambes avaient vraiment besoin d'un rappel au travail."
De son côté, Kirishima s'essaie à une nouvelle variante du shiko (lever les jambes tendues le plus haut possible). Ce matin, il suivait les conseils du Yamahibiki oyakata, qui lui transmettait la technique de son propre enseignant, le 56ème yokozuna Kitanoumi.
Comme le veut la coutume, les activités se sont achevées avec la danse de l'arc (yumitori-shiki), exécutée par Kamito de l'écurie Tatsunami.
Demain, cap sur une nouvelle région ! La caravane quitte le Kansai en direction du Chugoku. Un trajet de peu plus de deux heures attend les lutteurs pour parcourir les 125 km qui les séparent d'Okayama, à l'ouest.

Although no demonstration of the traditional topknot (oichomage) took place today, the other activities were there: jinku songs, shokkiri farcical comedy and Hoshoryu's white rope presentation.
The surprise of the day came from Kotoeiho (Sadogatake stable), who joined the group unexpectedly. For the afternoon torikumi, the officials decided to pair him with Daieisho.
The day remained rather quiet for Takayasu. The 36-year-old veteran first practiced alongside Atamifuji and Fujiseiun, before training solo for about thirty minutes (photo):

Une nouvelle fois retravaillé, le programme a offert au public une démonstration immersive de la coiffure du chignon traditionnel (oichomage) : Takerufuji, Ura, Tobizaru et Shonannoumi se sont réunis au centre du dohyo avant de laisser place aux chants (jinku) interprétés à six voix.
Onosato est ensuite entré en scène pour présenter le nouage de sa corde blanche, préambule au spectacle burlesque du shokkiri.
L'enfant du pays de cette treizième étape, le lutteur Makushita Gojinryu (écurie Takekuma), a eu l'honneur d'ouvrir la session des torikumi face à Kagayaki.
Du côté des entraînements, Hoshoryu s'est imposé comme l'un des plus combatifs. Affichant une "excellente" forme, le yokozuna a enchaîné 18 duels pour 12 victoires et 6 défaites, affrontant principalement Hiradoumi.
Face à la presse locale, il a réaffirmé sa volonté de participer au tournoi d'hiver, dont le coup d'envoi sera donné le 8 novembre à Fukuoka.
La journée s'est achevée au rythme du yumitori-shiki, la traditionnelle danse de l'arc, exécutée une nouvelle fois par Hakuryu.
Demain sera une journée de repos. La caravane restera cependant dans la préfecture de Hyogo, mettant le cap sur la ville d'Akashi, située à environ 37 km au sud-est (soit une petite heure de route)

La très bonne nouvelle de ce samedi concerne Hakunofuji : absent depuis vendredi dernier en raison d'une douleur au tendon d'Achille, le n°2 de l'écurie Isegahama vient de réintégrer le groupe.
Après quelques exercices légers dans la matinée aux côtés de Fujinokawa, il prévoit de reprendre un entraînement complet dès dimanche.
La division Makushita est revenue à un format de combats classique aujourd’hui. Six lutteurs ont interprété les jinku (chants traditionnels) juste avant le shokkiri (comédie burlesque).
Bien qu'il n'y ait pas eu de présentation sur la coiffure de l'oichomage (le chignon traditionnel), le public a pu admirer les deux yokozuna exécuter le nouage de leur corde blanche.
L'un des moments forts de la journée a été la séance d'entraînement intensive imposée par Takayasu au héros local, Kazuma (photo, écurie Kise).
Combattant à seulement 15 minutes du domicile familial, le lutteur Juryo a pu compter sur le soutien chaleureux de ses proches et de son fan-club.
En coulisses, il a également reçu la visite de son frère cadet, venu fêter avec lui ses titres de champion poids moyens JBC et WBO en boxe, décrochés au mois d'août pendant la tournée estivale de sumo.

The very good news of this Saturday concerns Hakunofuji: absent since last Friday due to a pain in his Achilles tendon, the No. 2 of the Isegahama stable has returned to the group.
After some light exercises in the morning alongside Fujinokawa, he plans to resume full training on Sunday.
The Makushita division returned to a classic fighting format today. Six wrestlers performed jinku (traditional songs) just before shokkiri (farcical comedy).
Although there was no presentation on the hairstyle of the oichomage (the traditional topknot), the audience was able to admire the two yokozuna demonstrating the knotting of their white rope.

Plusieurs aménagements ont rythmé la journée, à commencer par la tenue d'un tournoi entre huit lutteurs Makushita.
Ce changement a conduit à la suppression de la démonstration du chignon traditionnel (oichomage) et de la corde blanche des yokozuna, tandis que les chants (jinku) ont réuni six interprètes au lieu de quatre.
Événement marquant de la matinée : les deux Grands champions se sont affrontés en entraînement, préfigurant leur combat en fin de journée. Une initiative perçue comme une réponse aux récentes critiques du président Hakkaku sur leur état de forme…
Héros local de cette onzième étape, le nouveau promu en Juryo Ryuho (écurie Otowayama) a été sollicité par l'ozeki Kotozakura lors des sessions matinales (photo), en présence de ses proches et d’anciens camarades d'école.
La journée s'est conclue par la cérémonie de l'arc (yumitori-shiki) menée par Rakanji de l'écurie Nishonoseki.

Autre fait notable : le retour de Mudoho (Makushita 6, écurie Otake et frère d'Oho) dans les torikumi face à Enho.

Globalement fidèle à celui de la veille, le programme de mardi a néanmoins enregistré quelques ajustements. Kagayaki a manqué à l'appel pour la démonstration de l'oichomage (le chignon traditionnel), et son duel d'exhibition face à Enho n'a pas été reconduit.
Le public a toutefois eu droit à une belle surprise : la présence exceptionnelle de Mudoho (écurie Otake). Classé Makushita 6, le lutteur a ouvert le bal des torikumi en défiant Ryuden. Autre bonne nouvelle qui réjouit les passionnés, Asasuiryu (écurie Takasago) a officiellement réintégré le groupe après une fracture de la paroi orbitale au cinquième jour du tournoi de septembre.
Côté entraînement, les spectateurs ont assisté au retour sur le dohyo de Toshinofuji (écurie Isegahama). Le géant de 195 cm n'a pas ménagé ses efforts, appelé par le yokozuna Onosato pour une séance de butsukari, les exercices de poussée (photo).
Interrogé à l'issue de la session, le Grand champion de l’écurie Nishonoseki a affiché ses ambitions pour le prochain grand tournoi de Fukuoka :
"Pour Tokyo, je me suis remis au travail environ trois semaines avant l'ouverture de la compétition, et mes efforts ont été récompensés par le titre. Si je veux réitérer l'exploit à Fukuoka, cela correspondrait à un retour à plein régime dès ce jeudi, lors de l'étape de Nagahama, dans la préfecture de Shiga."
Demain, la caravane tirera sa révérence à la région du Chubu avant d'amorcer son périple dans le Kansai. Un trajet de 120 kilomètres (environ 1,5 heure de route) attend les lutteurs pour rallier Takayama, dans la préfecture de Gifu.

Commonly faithful to the previous day's, Tuesday's program nevertheless recorded some adjustments. Kagayaki was absent for the oichomage demonstration (the traditional topknot), and his exhibition bout against Enho was not renewed.
However, the public was treated to a nice surprise: the exceptional presence of Mudoho (Otake stable). Ranked Makushita 6, the wrestler opened the torikumi by challenging Ryuden. Other good news that delighted the fans, Asasuiryu (Takasago stable) officially rejoined the group after a fractured orbital bone on the fifth day of the September tournament.
On the training side, the spectators attended the return to the dohyo of Toshinofuji (Isegahama stable). The 195 cm giant spared no effort, called by the yokozuna Onosato for a session of butsukari, the pushing exercises (photo).
Questioned at the end of the session, the Grand champion of the Nishonoseki stable showed his ambitions for the next major tournament in Fukuoka:
"For Tokyo, I got back to work about three weeks before the opening of the competition, and my efforts were rewarded with the title. If I want to repeat the feat in Fukuoka, it will correspond to a return to full speed this Thursday, during the Nagahama stop in Shiga Prefecture."
Tomorrow, the caravan will bow out in the Chubu region before starting their journey in Kansai. A 120-kilometer journey (about 1.5 hours’ drive) awaits the wrestlers to reach Takayama, Gifu Prefecture.

Avec 5,900 spectateurs au rendez-vous, la septième journée a signé la plus forte affluence depuis mardi dernier. Face à cette affluence exceptionnelle (à cause de la fête nationale du sport ?), les organisateurs ont même dû ouvrir les portes avec 30 minutes d'avance !
À "domicile", Enho de l'écurie Isegahama et Kagayaki (Takadagawa) ont été les véritables vedettes du jour. Après avoir fait dresser leur oichomage, le chignon traditionnel, ils se sont affrontés lors d'un combat d’exhibition très applaudi en ouverture des torikumi de l’après-midi.
Le public a également pu profiter des animations habituelles : le jinku (chants), le shokkiri (démonstration humoristique) ainsi que l'art du nouage de la corde blanche des yokozuna, présenté par Onosato.
Le champion du tournoi de septembre jouait lui aussi presque à la maison, étant originaire de Tsubata à moins de 20 km d'ici. Après un bref entraînement face à Fujiryoga et Kirishima, il s'est prêté avec enthousiasme à une session d'initiation avec les enfants.
La journée s'est achevée en beauté avec le yumitori-shiki -la danse de l'arc- exécuté par Kamito (écurie Tatsunami).
Demain, la tournée reste dans la préfecture d'Ishikawa et met le cap un peu plus au nord, direction Kahoku (à environ 24 km, soit moins de 30 minutes de trajet).

With 5,900 spectators, the seventh day signed the highest crowd since last Tuesday. Faced with this exceptional attendance (because of the National Sports Day?), the organizers even had to open the doors 30 minutes early!
At home, Enho (Isegahama stable) and Kagayaki (Takadagawa stable) were the real stars of the day. After their oichomage -the traditional topknot-, they faced each other in a highly praised exhibition fight at the opening of the afternoon torikumi.
The public was also able to enjoy the usual entertainment: jinku (songs), shokkiri (humorous demonstration) as well as the art of tying the white rope of the yokozuna, presented by Onosato.
The champion of the September tournament was also playing almost at home, being from Tsubata, less than 20 km away. After a short training session against Fujiryoga and Kirishima, he enthusiastically took part in an introductory session with the children.
The day ended on a high note with the yumitori-shiki -the bow twirling- performed by Kamito (Tatsunami stable).
Tomorrow, the tour stays in Ishikawa Prefecture and heads a little further north, towards Kahoku (about 24 km away, less than 30 minutes' drive).

Les animations se sont poursuivies ce dimanche avec, pour commencer, une démonstration du chignon traditionnel (oichomage) menée par l'enfant du pays, Asanoyama.
Le public a ensuite assisté au chant (jinku) toujours en quatuor et au duo comique du shokkiri, avant qu’Hoshoryu ne clôture la matinée en présentant le nouage de sa corde blanche de yokozuna.
Un autre natif de Toyama, le lutteur Makushita Kakueizan (écurie Otowayama), a échangé quelques mouvements avec l’ancien ozeki (photo) avant que celui-ci ne retrouve Takayasu pour discuter de leur confrontation de l’après-midi.
Surnommé le "grizzly", Takayasu s’est ensuite entraîné aux côtés d’Atamifuji et Yoshinofuji, bouclant sa session sur un score de 5 victoires pour 3 défaites.
Plus loin, Aonishiki et Fujinokawa se sont adonnés au butsukari (les poussées), l’Ukrainien se distinguant toutefois par une simple bande à la cheville à la place de sa chaussette habituelle.
L’enthousiasme de la foule est monté d’un cran pour le bouquet final, marqué par un duel 100% Grands champions.
La journée s'est achevée avec une nouvelle figure au yumitori-shiki, Hakuryu (écurie Otowayama), que quelques fans avaient eu l'occasion d'apercevoir en train de répéter ce rituel en extérieur dans la semaine.
Prochaine étape dès demain : direction Kanazawa, dans la préfecture d’Ishikawa, située à 45 minutes de route (53 km au sud-ouest).

The events continued this Sunday, kicking off with a demonstration of the traditional topknot (oichomage) led by local boy Asanoyama.
The audience then watched the singing (jinku), again performed as a quartet, and the comic duet of the shokkiri, before Hoshoryu brought the morning to a close by presenting how to tie his white yokozuna rope.
Another Toyama native, the Makushita wrestler Kakueizan (Otowayama stable), exchanged a few moves with the former ozeki (pictured) before the latter met up with Takayasu to discuss their bout later that afternoon.
Nicknamed the “Grizzly”, Takayasu then trained alongside Atamifuji and Yoshinofuji, finishing his session with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses.
Elsewhere, Aonishiki and Fujinokawa engaged in butsukari (shoving), although the Ukrainian stood out for wearing just an ankle strap instead of his usual sock.
The crowd’s enthusiasm reached new heights for the grand finale, which featured a clash between the two Grand Champions.
The day drew to a close with a new face at the yumitori-shiki, Hakuryu (Otowayama stable), whom a few fans had spotted practising this ritual outdoors earlier in the week.
Next stop, starting tomorrow: off to Kanazawa, in Ishikawa Prefecture, a 45-minute drive away (53 km south-west).

Comme prévu, Hoshoryu a fait son entrée remarquée dans le jungyo aujourd'hui. Mais la véritable surprise est venue de son implication totale dès les entraînements matinaux !
Le public a ainsi eu le privilège d'assister à une impressionnante séance de butsukari -les exercices de poussée- (photo) opposant les deux yokozuna.
À la mi-journée, le haut-gradé de l'écurie Tatsunami s'est même prêté au jeu en présentant le nouage de sa corde blanche avant le dohyo-iri.
Côté animations, le héros local Mitakeumi a partagé un moment avec les enfants avant sa démonstration d'oichomage (le chignon traditionnel), pour ensuite céder sa place au jinku (chants) et au shokkiri (la comédie burlesque).
C'est Rakanji, de l'écurie Nishonoseki, qui a clôturé la journée en beauté avec le yumitori-shiki (la danse rituelle de l'arc).
Prochaine étape : demain, direction Imizu, dans la préfecture de Toyama. Un périple vers le nord-est d'un peu moins de trois heures pour parcourir les quelque 145 kilomètres qui séparent les deux villes.

Ce matin, dès leur arrivée, les fans ont appris l'absence d'Hakunofuji, contraint de déclarer forfait depuis hier soir en raison d'une douleur au pied.
Son remplacement ne s'est pas fait attendre : Hoshoryu a confirmé sa venue dès samedi sur le compte Instagram de l'écurie Tatsunami.
Toutes les animations prévues étaient au programme aujourd'hui : Ichiyamamoto a ouvert le bal avec une démonstration de l'oichomage (le chignon traditionnel), suivie du jinku, du shokkiri et de la présentation de la corde blanche d'Onosato.
Du côté de l'entraînement, Yoshinofuji (écurie Isegahama) a repris en douceur avec un bilan de 4-3. Son coéquipier Atamifuji a quant à lui bénéficié d'un long travail individuel sous la direction du Takadagawa-oyakata (photo), axé sur le placement des mains sur le mawashi.
Demain, le tournoi quitte le Kanto pour la région du Chubu. Il faudra compter environ 2:45 heures de route pour parcourir les quelque 160 km vers l'ouest et rejoindre Matsumoto, dans la préfecture de Nagano.

This morning, as soon as they arrived, the fans learnt that Hakunofuji would not be taking part, having been forced to withdraw since yesterday evening due to pain in his foot.
It didn’t take long to find a replacement: Hoshoryu confirmed he would be coming as early as Saturday on the Tatsunami stable’s Instagram account.
All the planned events were on the program today: Ichiyamamoto kicked things off with a demonstration of the oichomage (the traditional topknot), followed by the jinku, the shokkiri and the presentation of Onosato's white rope.
On the training front, Yoshinofuji (Isegahama stable) has made a gentle return, recording a 4-3 record. His stablemate Atamifuji, meanwhile, has been undergoing an intense individual session under the guidance of Takadagawa-oyakata (pictured), focusing on his hand placement on the mawashi.
Tomorrow, the tour leaves Kanto for the Chubu region. It will take around 2 hours and 45 minutes to drive the approx. 160 km west to Matsumoto, in Nagano Prefecture.

Pour ce troisième jour de tournée, l’absence des démonstrations de chignon (oichomage) et de la corde du yokozuna est particulièrement remarquable, laissant un vide sur le programme.
Côté entraînements, Enho a reçu quelques conseils techniques sur les projections de la part du responsable de la tournée, Takadagawa-oyakata.
De son côté, le sekiwake Fujinokawa conclut sa matinée avec un bilan équilibré de 3-3. Il ne s'en inquiète pas, rappelant qu'il débute rarement les jungyo au sommet de sa forme.
Ailleurs dans le gymnase, Aonishiki (photo) garde en ligne de mire sa revanche contre Onosato après sa défaite au senshuraku -le quinzième jour- du tournoi d'automne. En dépit d'une douleur persistante à la jambe qui le limite au shiko, il compte bien progresser au quotidien pour participer à quelques combats d'ici la fin octobre.
Demain, le déplacement sera court : le groupe reste dans la préfecture de Saitama et mettra environ une heure de route pour parcourir les 44 km cap au nord-est vers Chichibu.

On the training side, Enho received some technical advice on projections from the tour manager, Takadagawa-oyakata.
For his part, sekiwake Fujinokawa concluded his morning with a balanced record of 3-3. He is not worried, recalling that he rarely starts jungyo at the top of his form.
Elsewhere in the arena, Aonishiki (photo) is keeping his sights set on his revenge against Onosato after his defeat in the senshuraku -the fifteenth day- of the autumn tournament. Despite a persistent leg pain that limits him to shiko, he intends to improve daily to participate in a few fights between now and the end of October.
Tomorrow, the trip will be short: the group stays in Saitama Prefecture and will take about an hour to travel the 44 km northeast to Chichibu.

Aujourd’hui, le héros local Shonannoumi est monté sur le dohyo pour une démonstration de l’oichomage (le chignon).
Onosato, quant à lui, a poursuivi la présentation de sa corde blanche de yokozuna, entre les chants (jinku) et les tambours (daiko).
Sur le plan de l’entraînement, Hiradoumi s'est montré particulièrement actif avec 17 combats, dont 12 victoires.
Après son 9-6 au tournoi de septembre, il cherche à faire oublier une année mitigée qui se solde jusqu'ici avec 36 victoires sur 75 matchs. Son objectif : décrocher un nouveau kachi-koshi (score minimum 8-7) à Fukuoka et chasser enfin la malchance qui le poursuit en novembre depuis deux ans.
Parmi les nouveaux visages de cette tournée figure Toshinofuji. S'il y a déjà participé deux fois comme assistant (tsukebito), il découvre les exigences du rythme quotidien.
Son plus grand défi ? Les trajets en bus : du haut de ses 195 cm, il doit s’allonger sur les banquettes pour tenir dans des sièges trop étroits et ne peut pas incliner les dossiers à cause de ses voisins…
La journée s’est achevée sur la traditionnelle danse de l’arc (yumitori-shiki), exécutée cette fois par Aszenshin de l'écurie Takasago.
Demain, cap sur Sayama, dans la préfecture de Saitama, à une soixantaine de kilomètres au nord, soit environ une heure de route.

In terms of training, Hiradoumi has been particularly active with 17 bouts, including 12 victories.
Following his 9-6 record at the September tournament, he is looking to put behind him a mixed year, that has so far yielded 36 wins from 75 bouts. His aim: to secure another kachi-koshi (a minimum score of 8-7) in Fukuoka and finally shake off the bad luck that has dogged him in November for the past two years.
Among the new faces on this tour is Toshinofuji. Although he has already taken part twice as an assistant (tsukebito), this is his first time experiencing the demands of the daily routine.
His biggest challenge? Bus journeys: at 195 cm tall, he has to stretch out across the benches to fit into seats that are too narrow, and he can’t tilt the seats because of the rikishi sitting behind him…
The day ended with the traditional bow twirling (yumitori-shiki), performed this time by Takasago stable's Aszenshin.

La tournée d’automne s’ouvre sur un chiffre marquant : 12 lutteurs de la division Makuuchi manquent à l’appel.
Pour compenser ces absences, l’Association a convoqué quatre rikishi de Juryo, dont le très populaire Enho (écurie Isegahama).
Opposé à Ikarigata (Makushita #4, Isenoumi) lors des torikumi, le favori du public signe ainsi son grand retour sur le jungyo après trois ans d’absence.
Côté animations, Takayasu a assuré la démonstration du coiffage de l’oichomage, juste avant l'entrée en scène d’Onosato pour le nouage de sa corde blanche et son dohyo-iri.
