Le tournoi de juillet s'annonce crucial pour Kirishima et Kotozakura ! Tandis que le premier combattra pour aller chercher le titre de soixante-seizième (76) yokozuna, le second jettera toutes ses forces dans la bataille pour sauver son statut d'ozeki.

Réunis aujourd'hui sur le terrain de Sadogatake-beya avec d'autres sekitori, les deux hommes ont montré une belle forme. Si l'hôte de la journée affiche un solide bilan de 11-2 grâce à une offensive constante, Kirishima est resté impérial à 10-0 pour sa reprise :

Je n'avais pas renfilé le mawashi depuis le voyage à Paris ! Après notre retour mi-juin, je suis parti directement en Mongolie avant de revenir tout juste pour la publication du banzuke. Je suis ravi de ma prestation et j'espère bien réitérer ces performances pendant la compétition.

The July tournament looks set to be crucial for Kirishima and Kotozakura! Whilst the former will be fighting to secure the title of the seventy-sixth (76) yokozuna, the latter will throw all his strength into the battle to save his ozeki status.

Gathering today at the Sadogatake-beya's accomodations with other sekitori, the two men were in fine form. Whilst the host for the day boasts a solid record of 11-2 thanks to a relentless attack, Kirishima remained in commanding form at 10-0 for his revival:

I hadn’t put on my mawashi again since the trip to Paris! After we got back in mid-June, I went straight to Mongolia before returning just in time for the banzuke to be published. I’m delighted with my performance and I certainly hope to repeat it during the tournament.
