Neuf pages sont consacrées au nouveau Grand champion, dont la promotion est la plus rapide de l'histoire depuis la période Showa, c.-à-d. 13 tournois depuis son entrée. Il bat ainsi le n° 36 Haguroyama et le n° 38 Terukuni qui en ont mis seize, mais aussi le n° 54 Wajima depuis le passage à six compétitions par an en 1958.
