Le yokozuna est apparu devant les micros ce matin aux côtés du directeur Isegahama. Il évoque ses nombreuses blessures et les problèmes de santé qu’il a cumulé ces quatorze dernières années, en mentionnant sa baisse de moral en 2018-19 lorsqu’il est retombé en Jonidan. Asahifuji salue le courage du "guerrier". On apprend enfin que Terunofuji confirme son maintien au sein de l’Association, il devient oyakata en gardant son shikona (privilège des Grands champions ) jusqu’à cet été lorsqu’Isegahama-oyakata fêtera son 65e anniversaire.
