ENGLISH TRANSLATION

At almost 42 on November 16, Tamawashi is in sparkling form and makes no secret of it.

Nicknamed "Iron Man", the sumo veteran has resumed training at the Kataonami stable’s temporary dojo in Asakura, about 40 minutes from Fukuoka. Having settled in since mid-October, he has allowed himself a few moments of relaxation, even trying his hand at harvesting sweet potatoes. As for his preparation, he has already completed 11 bouts against Tamashoho (with a positive record of 7-4).

From this Thursday, he will begin his visits to other stables by heading to Takadagawa, where Kagayaki, Ryuden and Shonannoumi are waiting for him. His bold challenge, set out in early July — to return to the top division before the end of the year — has now been achieved in just two Juryo tournaments!

I’m trying out new techniques. If one doesn’t work out, no problem – I’ll just move on to the next one. In November, I want to give it my all and show a new side of myself – that of a man who has changed profoundly.
