Le 71e yokozuna Kakuryu a accepté de prendre sous son aile le fils aîné d’un ancien sekitori : Maegashira 9 Akinoshu (Izutsu-beya, 1984-2001).

Kosei Imada (24 ans, 173 cm, 119 kg) s’exerce au sumo depuis l’école élémentaire au Japon avant de partir étudier à l’université du Nevada où il pratiquait le judo (champion de l’US Open 2022 en +100 kg). Le jeune homme confie à la presse que Terao était son parrain, et depuis son décès il a voulu honorer une promesse qu’ils s’étaient fait tous les deux.

Imada a passé aujourd’hui les sept tests physiques préalables aux examens médicaux du 1er mars. En attendant, il souhaite rendre visite à Kirishima et ses camarades pour commencer sa formation.

The 71st yokozuna Kakuryu has agreed to take under his wing the eldest son of a former sekitori: Maegashira 9 Akinoshu (Izutsu-beya, 1984-2001).

Kosei Imada (24 years old, 173 cm, 119 kg) has been practicing sumo since elementary school in Japan before leaving to study at the University of Nevada where he practiced judo (2022 US Open champion in +100 kg). The young man said to the press that Terao was his godfather, and since his death he wanted to honor a prom-ise they had made to each other.

Imada today passed the seven physical tests prior to the medical examinations on March 1. In the meantime, he wants to visit Kirishima and his stablemates to begin his training.
