Natsu basho, the YDC committee's perspective
Comme toujours au lendemain de chaque tournoi, le conseil de Délibération se réunit pour discuter de la compétition qui vient de se terminer mais aussi pour préparer le prochain banzuke.
As always on the day after each tournament, the Deliberation committee meets to discuss the competition that has just ended but also to prepare the next banzuke.
Il n’a fallu que SIX minutes aux quinze membres pour approuver la promotion d’Onosato au titre suprême de 75e yokozuna, en espérant voir une nouvelle "période Oho" 大豊 [combinaison des deux premiers kanji d’Onosato et Hoshoryu]. La titularisation sera rendue officielle mercredi lors d’une cérémonie au club Nishonoseki.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
It took only SIX minutes for the fifteen members to approve Onosato's promotion to the supreme title of 75th yokozuna, hoping to see a new “Oho era” 大豊 [combination of the first two kanji of Onosato and Hoshoryu]. The tenure will be made official on Wednesday during a ceremony at the Nishonoseki stable.
