Natsu basho: we already know one of the rikishi qualified for tsukidashi

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

At the end of March, we learned that three high school students were qualified in Makushita as tsukidashi n° 60 at the May tournament.

One of them, Gyotoku (22 years old, on the right of the photo) has been mentioned a lot in the Japanese press in recent days because... He has no experience in university sumo!

Coming from Takudai (the University of Tokyo), he studied Political Science and was a physical education coach. He joined the Tamanoi-beya and has been training for a few days to take the recruitment tests on Friday, May 2. His choice was very quick: he wanted to join two former graduates of the same structure (Hatsu-yama and Toshunryu). To conclude the interview, he said he wanted to face Goshima (Fujishima-beya), who has recently graduated from the same school.
