Le conseil de délibération YDC s’est réuni ce lundi 25 novembre pour parler du tournoi d’hiver, mais aussi pour préparer le banzuke de la nouvelle année.

Le président Yamauchi évoque tout d’abord le cas de Terunofuji, en lui souhaitant toujours un prompt rétablissement mais sans inquiétude particulière. Kotozakura et Hoshoryu sont ensuite mentionnés avec les « félicitations du jury » et le sujet d’une double promotion au titre de yokozuna serait envisagée s’ils ont de bons résultats en janvier.

FYI, cette situation serait une première en 54 ans. En effet, le dernier duo promu au grade suprême en même temps était Kitanofuji-Tamanoumi en 1970 !

The YDC deliberation council met on Monday, November 25 to talk about the Winter tournament, but also to prepare for the New year's banzuke.

President Yamauchi first mentioned the case of Terunofuji, still wishing him a speedy recovery but without any particular concern. Kotozakura and Hoshoryu were then mentioned with the "congratulations of the jury" and the subject of a double promotion to the title of yokozuna would be considered if they have good results in January.
