Dans la matinée, son dernier combat était contre Kotozakura, son camarade de club, et arbitré par le Kimura Shonosuke. Comme le veut la coutume, les deux yokozuna ont présenté leur dohyo-iri, avant qu'ils s'affrontent dans un match d’exhibition. Onosato a ainsi exécuté son rituel pour la première fois dans le gymnase [NB : Ryuden a été remplacé par Takanosho].
