Former Maegashira 11 Daiamami is retiring!
Vendredi dernier, on apprenait pendant le tournoi que le disciple d’Oitekaze-beya a décidé de raccrocher le mawashi, après dix années sur les dohyo.
Daiamami est apparu devant la presse ce matin. Rétrogradé en Makushita depuis septembre 2025, il avait déclaré forfait début janvier pour l’actuelle compétition à cause de ses genoux qui "ne le tiennent plus". Son meilleur souvenir est le match contre Satoyama en janvier 2017, qui est originaire du même lycée (son aîné de 11 ans).
Il n’a pas d’idée fixe [non, pas le chien😉] sur son avenir mais voudrait ouvrir un restaurant.

Last Friday, we learned during the tournament that the disciple of Oi-tekaze-beya has decided to hang up the mawashi, after ten years on the dohyo.
Daiamami appeared in front of the press this morning. Demoted to Makushita since September 2025, he withdrew from the current competition at the beginning of January because of his knees which "no longer hold him". His best memory is the match against Satoyama in January 2017, who is from the same high school (11 years his senior). He has no fixed idea about his future but would like to open a restaurant.
