Comme d’habitude, le comité YDC s’est réuni lundi matin au lendemain de la conclusion du tournoi de printemps.
Le président Tadamori confie son mécontentement quant à Onosato (0-4-11) mais souhaite que le yokozuna se rétablisse vite pour la prochaine compétition en mai.
Il salue ensuite la performance 11-4 d’Hoshoryu et sa lutte pour la coupe de l’Empereur. Kirishima a été applaudi, son retour au statut d’ozeki a été approuvé à l’unanimité. Le résultat 7-8 d’Aonishiki a aussi été abordé :
La situation kadoban qu’il va bientôt vivre lui servira d’expérience. Il a un fort potentiel pour acquérir la corde blanche, cela demande beaucoup de travail. Il a montré du courage pendant les quinze jours après sa blessure au pied, qu’il l’utilise pour devenir encore plus fort !
