Hoshoryu a donné ce matin la classique interview du champion devant la presse.

Hier soir, on apprenait aux pieds du dohyo que le président Hakkaku avait proposé au conseil YDC la nomination du mongol pour le titre suprême, ce qui a été accepté aujourd’hui. L’ambiance était très détendue au club Tatsunami, l’ozeki est même arrivé en retard à cause "d’une panne de réveil".

Lorsqu’il parle du tournoi, il se concentrait sur une journée à la fois, sans penser au lendemain. Il évoque aussi la motivation de son directeur, qui lui disait de prendre du plaisir tout en restant sur l’objectif de la coupe après sa défaite contre Hiradoumi (jour 9). C’est ainsi qu’il a pu faire une semaine à 6-0 (+2 playoffs).
