On fête l’anniversaire de trois anciens sekitori aujourd’hui, dont un à titre posthume.
Hokuseiho (Maegashira 6) a 23 ans. Actif entre 2020 et 2024 chez Miyagino-beya, il a été licencié en février dernier suite à des violences sur ses camarades.
Kitanowaka (Maegashira 14) a 24 ans. Actif depuis 2019 chez Hakkaku-beya, on le retrouve aujourd’hui en tant que Juryo 1 pour le tournoi de novembre.
Kurohimeyama (sekiwake) aurait 76 ans. Actif entre 1964 et 1982 chez Tatsunami-beya, il a créé le premier club Takekuma entre 1999 et 2004 avant de travailler comme instructeur chez Tomozuna (actuel Oshima II) jusqu’en 2013. Il meurt en 2018 d’un AVC.

We celebrate the birthdays of three former sekitori today, one of them posthumously.
Hokuseiho (Maegashira 6) is 23 years old. Active between 2020 and 2024 at Miyagino-beya, he was fired last February following violence against his teammates.
Kitanowaka (Maegashira 14) is 24. Active since 2019 at Hakkaku-beya, he can now be found as Juryo 1 for the November tournament.
Kurohimeyama (sekiwake) would have been 76. Active between 1964 and 1982 at Tatsunami-beya, he created the first Takekuma stable between 1999 and 2004 before working as an instructor at Tomozuna (now Oshima II) until 2013. He died in 2018 of a stroke.
