Aki basho: the YDC Committee gives its point of view
Comme d’habitude, le Conseil s’est réuni lundi matin pour débattre de la compétition d’automne mais aussi pour parler des promotions Juryo appliquées au tournoi de novembre (révélées mercredi 1er octobre). Le banzuke est lui aussi discuté.
La réunion était très rapide : CINQ petites minutes ! Le président Tadamori est très heureux de la prestation livrée par Onosato, le yokozuna a pris conscience très vite des responsabilités qui l’incombent.
Le championnat décidé aux play-offs entre deux Grands champions n’est pas arrivé depuis 16 ans (2009-9), quand Asashoryu a battu Hakuho. L’ère 大豊 Oho est véritablement lancée !

As usual, the Council met on Monday morning to converse on the Fall competition but also to deliberate the Juryo promotions applied to the November tournament (revealed on Wednesday, October 1). Banzuke was also discussed.
The meeting was very fast: FIVE short minutes! President Tadamori is very happy with the performance delivered by Onosato, the yokozuna has quickly become aware of the responsibilities that fall on him.
The championship decided in the play-offs between two Grand champions has not happened for 16 years (2009-9), when Asashoryu beat Hakuho. The 大豊 Oho era is truly underway!
