Ce weekend, Asanoyama et les membres de son équipe qui ne sont pas en tournée sont partis pour trois jours à Hiratsuka-shi, Kanagawa.
L’ancien ozeki retrouvera la Juryo dans quelques heures maintenant [NDLR, le banzuke sort dimanche à 22:00 GMT] et il veut être prêt à combattre les autres sekitori. Opposé à Asasuiryu fka Ishizaki aujourd’hui, il a gagné sept des 10 matchs mais veut préserver son genou même si la blessure semble guérie. Asanoyama est plutôt confiant pour la compétition à venir, il souhaite retourner en Makuuchi voire reprendre son statut de san’yaku d’ici à l’été 2026.

This weekend, Asanoyama and his non-touring stablemates went to Hiratsuka-shi, Kanagawa, for three days.
The former ozeki will be back in Juryo in a few hours now [Editor's note: the banzuke goes out on Sunday at 22:00 GMT] and he wants to be ready to fight the other sekitori. Facing Asasuiryu fka Ishizaki today, he has won seven of the 10 bouts but wants to preserve his knee even if the injury seems to have healed. Asanoyama is quite confident for the upcoming competition, he wants to return to Makuuchi or even regain his status as a san'yaku by the summer of 2026.
