On a appris cette semaine qu’un jeune Mongol de 21 ans passera les tests d’entrée de l’Association avant le tournoi de septembre.
Mesurant 197 cm et pesant 175 kg, il pratique le sumo depuis 2019 seulement mais il a beaucoup impressionné le Takasago-oyakata qui l’a incité à venir au Japon.
Dans sa jeunesse, il faisait du volley-ball et du bokh (lutte mongole). Après avoir remporté les championnats universitaires, il a choisi d’arrêter l’école et d’intégrer la Tamanoi-beya. Il s’entraîne depuis plusieurs semaines avec les membres dont l’ancien Maegashira 12 Tochiazuma (198 cm), qui est admiratif de ce jeune homme.

We learned this week that a 21-year-old Mongolian will take the Association's entrance tests before the September tournament.
Standing 197cm tall and weighing 175kg, he has only been practicing sumo since 2019, but he has greatly impressed Takasago-oyakata who inspired him to come to Japan. In his youth, he played volleyball and bokh (Mongolian wrestling). After winning the university championships, he chose to quit school and join Tamanoi-beya. He has been training for several weeks with the members including the former Maegashira 12 Tochiazuma (198 cm), who admires this young man.
