Le yokozuna a donné rendez-vous aux journalistes très tôt lundi matin dans les locaux de la Nishonoseki-beya.

Ce trophée est différent des autres car c’est mon premier en tant que Grand champion. Je suis heureux d’égaler Takanohana [NDLR, trois coupes en moins d’un an, TNH l’a fait entre mars et septembre 1997] dont je regarde beaucoup les matchs quand je suis dans le bus des tournées.

Il avoue s’être beaucoup plus focalisé sur la compétition à Tokyo que celle de Nagoya en juillet. Le kinboshi concédé à Hakuoho au 4^e jour était une grosse frustration, mais il a su rebondir jusqu’à samedi dernier. Il conclut l’entretien en admettant sa déception de ne pas avoir combattu Kotozakura samedi. Aujourd’hui, il se concentre sur le tournoi de Fukuoka, mais est très impatient de visiter Londres dans deux semaines pour le koen au Royal Albert Hall.

The yokozuna gave an appointment to journalists very early Monday morning at the premises of Nishonoseki-beya.
