Kimura Ginjiro: the referee is fired!
Mardi matin, la presse nous révèle officiellement le renvoi de l’arbitre Makuuchi de Shibatayama-beya.
On Tuesday morning, the press officially revealed the dismissal of the Makuuchi referee from Shibatayama-beya.
L’Association a mis au jour cette semaine une affaire qui a commencé en janvier 2019 : le gyoji aurait détourné 25+ millions de yen principalement dans des jeux de hasard, c.-à-d. environ 152 500 euros. Il aurait même poussé des juniors à lui verser des montants importants.
Un "tribunal" a été organisé avant le tournoi de Natsu le 10 mai durant lequel Ginjiro a reconnu ses torts, après avoir longuement affirmé que l’argent servait pour les victimes du séisme de 2011. ENGLISH TRANSLATION
The Association uncovered this week a case that began in January 2019: the gyoji allegedly embezzled JPY 25+ million mainly in gambling, i.e. about USD 174,200. He would even have pushed juniors to pay him large sums.
A "court" was held before the Natsu tournament on May 10 during which Ginjiro confessed after having stated at length that the money was used for the victims of the 2011 earthquake.
