Il est 9:40 JPT quand les oyakata Sakaigawa et Onaruto arrivent au club Tatsunami pour annoncer officiellement la titularisation d’Hoshoryu comme 74e yokozuna.

Son discours est la phrase habituelle lorsque les sekitori atteignent ce niveau :

Je travaillerai dur et avec détermination pour ne pas ternir le nom de Yokozuna.

Une grande délégation mongole a fait le déplacement dont ses parents, deux oncles (minus Asashoryu) et d’autres proches. Après une heure passée en conférence de presse aux côtés de son directeur, le nouveau Grand champion sort enfin pour la photo commémorative sur les épaules de ses coéquipiers Shunrai, Kazuto et Hokuyozan.

Dans la journée, la salle principale du club était recouverte de bâches pour confectionner la corde blanche. Hoshoryu a lui-même mis "les mains à la pâte" pour la première étape comme vous pouvez le voir sur cet extrait. Jeudi sera la grande répétition aux côtés de Musashimaru (n° 67) qui lui confiera un set de kesho-mawashi et son épée. Enfin, vendredi le public pourra assister au premier dohyo-iri au temple Meiji.

It was 9:40 JPT when the two oyakata Sakaigawa and Onaruto arrived at the Tatsunami stable to officially announce Hoshoryu's tenure as the 74th yokozuna.

His speech is the usual phrase when a sekitori reaches this level:

I will work hard and with determination not to tarnish the name of Yokozuna.

A large Mongolian delegation made the trip, including his parents, two uncles (minus Asashoryu) and other relatives. After an hour spent in a press conference alongside his director, the new Grand Champion finally came out for the commemorative photo on the shoulders of his teammates Shunrai, Kazuto and Hokuyozan.

During the day, the main room of the building was covered with tarpaulins to make the white rope. Hoshoryu himself "got his hands dirty" for the first step as you can see in this extract.

Thursday will be the big rehearsal alongside Musashimaru (No. 67) who will give him a set of kesho-mawashi and his sword. Finally, on Friday, the public will be able to attend the first dohyo-iri at the Meiji temple.
