Le classement pour la deuxième compétition de l'année a été révélé mardi 24 février. Voici une analyse rapide des principaux points à retenir.

San'yaku
Chez les ozeki, Aonishiki et Kotozakura s’échangent leurs places.
Atamifuji fait son arrivée chez les komusubi. C’est le premier membre de la nouvelle Isegahama-beya à atteindre ce niveau en 10,5 ans (juillet 2015) lorsque Takarafuji eut été promu.

Maegashira
Après un Hatsu basho "compliqué", Oho (4-11) est destitué de la san’yaku et retombe n°3.
Trois hommes enregistrent leur meilleur classement : Fujinokawa, Churanoumi et Oshoumi.
Après trois tournois en deuxième division, Kotoeiho est de retour en Makuuchi et accompagne les deux compères de Fujishima-beya Fujiseiun et Fujiryoga (photo) qui feront leurs débuts chez les "grands" dans la compétition de mars.

Juryo
Pour équilibrer les tableaux, trois rikishi sont relégués : Ryuden (6-9), Tomokaze (4-11) et Hatsuyama (2-13).
Cinq hommes atteignent leur meilleur rang : Asasuiryu, Wakanosho (champion en janvier), Kyokukaiyu, Dewanoryu et Kazuma.
Shimazuumi revient en sekitori après un an passé en Makushita, suivi par les deux "petits nouveaux" de cette classe 2026-3 : Toshinofuji et Fujitensei (fka Fukuzaki).
Parlons un petit peu des favoris du public…

Enho est le n°4 des Makushita ! L’ancien protégé de Hakuho est bien déterminé à retrouver le haut-niveau dès le prochain tournoi, deux ans après sa chute.

Le cousin d’Hoshoryu, Tenrosei (Shikoroyama), grimpe en Makushita et arrive n°56.

L’ancien M5 Chiyomaru (Kokonoe, 1-6) dégringole encore en Sandanme 1.

Toujours convalescent, Mita (Futagoyama) est Makushita 41 alors que Nabatame monte de la vingt-huitième à la troisième position.

Le champion Jonokuchi Asahifuji se propulse directement en Jonidan 8 ! Dans cette même division, l’ancien J12 Kiryuoko (1-0-6, Tatsunami) occupera la centième et dernière place…
Je terminerais mon rapport avec la maezumo de janvier qui arrive en Jonokuchi….

Chez Takasago, Asasubaru est n°17.

Les trois "frères de coeur" d’Oshima-beya Kyokugosei, Kyokurenma et Kyokutaiyo seront respectivement n°18, 19 et 20.

À Kokonoe, Chiyonoteru et Chiyoshinzan (fka Chiyorusei et Ito) se partagent la vingt-et-unième place, la plus basse du banzuke général.

Enfin, Shosei (Nakamura) est n°18 et Teruyutaka (fka Nakazato, Tatsunami) n° 19.

The ranking for the second competition of the year was revealed on Tuesday, February 24. Here's a quick analysis of the key takeaways.

San'yaku
Among the ozeki, Aonishiki and Kotozakura swapped places.
Atamifuji arrives among the komusubi. He is the first member of the new Isegahama-beya to reach this level in 10.5 years (July 2015) when Takarafuji was promoted.

Maegashira
After a "complicated" Hatsu basho, Oho (4-11) was stripped of the san'yaku and fell back to No. 3.
Three men record their best rankings: Fujinokawa, Churanoumi and Oshoumi.
After three tournaments in the second division, Kotoeiho is back in Makuuchi and accompanies Fujishima-beya's two stablemates Fujiseiun and Fujiryoga (photo) who will make their debut with the "big boys" in the March competition.

Juryo
To balance the tables, three rikishi were relegated: Ryuden (6-9), Tomokaze (4-11) and Hatsuyama (2-13).
Five men reach their best ranks: Asasuiryu, Wakanosho (champion in January), Kyokukaiyu, Dewanoryu and Kazuma.
Shimazuumi returns to sekitori after a year spent in Makushita, followed by the two "newcomers" of this 2026-3 class: Toshinofuji and Fujitensei (fka Fukuzaki).
Let's talk a little bit about the crowd's favorites...

Enho is Makushita No. 4! Former Hakuho's pupil is determined more than ever to return to the top level at the next tournament, two years after his fall.

Hoshoryu's cousin, Tenrosei (Shikoroyama), climbs to Makushita and comes in at No. 56.

The former M5 Chiyomaru (Kokonoe, 1-6) falls again in Sandanme 1.

Still recovering, Mita (Futagoyama) is Makushita 41 while Nabatame climbs from the twenty-eighth to the third position.

Winner in Jonokuchi, Asahifuji is now a headlong starter in Jonidan as No. 8! In the same division, the former J12 Kiryuoko (1-0-6, Tatsunami) will occupy the hundredth and last place...
I will end my report with the January maezumo which is now coming in Jonokuchi....
At Takasago, Asasubaru is No. 17.
Oshima-beya's three stable "brothers" Kyokugosei, Kyokurenma and Kyokutaiyo will respectively be No. 18, 19 and 20.
At Kokonoe, Chiyonoteru and Chiyoshinzan (fka Chiyorusei and Ito) share the twenty-first place, the lowest in the overall banzuke.
Finally, Shosei (Nakamura) is No. 18 and Teruyutaka (fka Nakazato, Tatsunami) No. 19.
