Hoshoryu: a ceremony and a dohyo-iri at Osaka shrine
Samedi, le yokozuna et une délégation de l’Association se sont rendus dans le quartier Sumiyoshi d’Osaka pour un rituel réservé aux Grands champions qui consiste à accrocher une tsuna autour d’un camphrier sacré (une espèce de laurier). Hoshoryu a ensuite réalisé son dohyo-iri aux côtés de Meisei et Hiradoumi en arborant son premier kesho-mawashi officiel (j’en avais parlé il y a quelques semaines).
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
On Saturday, the yokozuna and a delegation from the Association traveled to Osaka's Sumiyoshi district for a ritual reserved for Grand Champions, which consists of hanging a tsuna around a sacred camphor tree (a species of laurel). Hoshoryu then performed his dohyo-iri alongside Meisei and Hiradoumi, wearing his first official kesho-mawashi (I had talked about it a few weeks ago).
