Cela fut annoncé il y a déjà quelques semaines, l’événement éponyme du 69e yokozuna était orchestré par le directeur Isegahama, mais le Miyagino-oyakata a participé "comme si de rien n’était".

Plus de 1’100 jeunes lutteurs venus de 12 pays (plus le Japon) se sont réunis au Kokugikan. Deux champions ont fait le plus parler d’eux aujourd’hui :

• Pour la division des collégiens, le champion en individuel est un Mongol étudiant à Tottori HS. Il aimerait intégrer le monde professionnel après le lycée. Son souhait serait le club Takasago où évoluait son idole, Asashoryu.

• Dans la section élémentaire, c’est un enfant originaire d’Ishikawa qui remporte son quatrième titre consécutif. Malgré ses mensurations idéales pour le sumo, il préfère garder le sport comme loisir et souhaite devenir "col blanc" (cadre d’entreprise).

En ce qui concerne les animations, Hakuho est monté sur le dohyo pour jouer avec les plus petits, un moment très populaire. Pour l’accompagner, il pouvait compter sur Hakuoho, Atamifuji et Takerufuji. Les rediffusions sont disponibles sur la chaîne YT officielle (4 dohyo).

It was announced a few weeks ago that the eponymous event of the 69th yokozuna would be orchestrated by the director Isegahama, but Miyagino-oyakata participated "as if nothing had happened".

More than 1,100 young wrestlers from 12 countries (plus Japan) gathered at the Kokugikan. Two champions have been the most talked about today:

• For the Junior HS division, it’s a student Mongolian from Tottori college. He would like to enter the professional world after high school. His wish would be the Takasago stable where his idol, Asashoryu, was.

• In the elementary section, a child from Ishikawa won his fourth consecutive title. Despite his ideal measurements for sumo, he prefers to keep it as a hobby and wants to become a "white collar" (company executive).
