1. On commence avec Kyushu (novembre) 1983. On assistait notamment aux débuts sekitori de Konishiki (6:15). Deux futurs yokozuna affrontaient ceux déjà en place : Onokuni contre Chiyonofuji (25:09) et Asahifuji face à Takanosato (27:01). À la fin de la quinzaine, le Loup a capturé son neuvième trophée sur le score de 14-1.

2. On poursuit avec Hatsu (janvier) 1984. Vous pouvez voir quelques scènes inédites comme l’arrivée de Takamiyama au Kuramae Kokugikan (5:12) ou la préparation dans le vestiaire EST (6:04).

3. On termine avec Natsu (mai) 1984. Ce tournoi marquait l’entrée en Maezumo de Kotonowaka I sous le shikona Imano (actuel Sadogatake-oyakata) mais aussi la dernière fois que l’on voyait Takamiyama sur un dohyo. Au terme de la compétition, le Y. 55 Kitanoumi a décroché sa vingt-quatrième coupe de l’Empereur.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

1. We start with Kyushu (November) 1983. Konishiki’s sekitori debut (6:15) was celebrated. Two future yokozuna faced those already in place: Onokuni x Chiyonofuji (25:09) and Asahifuji x Takanosato (27:01). At the end of the fortnight, the Wolf captured his ninth trophy with a score of 14-1.

2. We continue with Hatsu (January) 1984. You can see some new scenes such as the arrival of Takamiyama at the Kuramae Kokugikan (5:12) or the preparation in the EAST locker room (6:04).

3. We end with Natsu (May) 1984. This tournament marked the entry into Maezumo of Kotonowaka I under the shikona Imano (now Sadogatake-oyakata) but also the last time Takamiyama was seen on a dohyo. At the end of the competition, Y. 55 Kitanoumi won his twenty-fourth Emperor's cup.
