Vendredi, nous sommes à la veille du weekend qui conclut ce tournoi d’été. Les deux ligues les plus basses ont déjà trouvé leurs champions, mais la compétition est "loin" d’être finie pour les autres…
En Juryo, Enho trouve enfin le chemin de la victoire contre Meisei après une semaine compliquée… Juste après eux, on assistait sans doute au match qui scellera le diplôme de la deuxième division : après un faux-départ, Kazuma bloque les bras de Kazekeno pour l’emmener derrière la ligne.
En Makuuchi, Yoshinofuji éjecte Ura de la deuxième marche du podium malgré une bonne défense de la "panthère rose" qui joue encore au clown 🤣. Wakatakakage fera la même chose avec Tobizaru quelques minutes plus tard.
La journée se termine avec Kirishima et Kotoeiho, les deux prétendants à la coupe de l’Empereur seront départagés par les juges qui renversent la décision de l’arbitre : l’ozeki est le leader solitaire !!
BONUS : j’en parlais dans l’introduction de ce résumé. La Jonokuchi et la Jonidan, les deux premières catégories de la hiérarchie sumo, ont sacré les vainqueurs du concours de mai. Félicitations à Shosei (Nakamura-beya) et Hakugetsuro (Asahiyama-beya).

Friday, we are on the eve of the weekend that concludes this summer tournament. The two lowest leagues have already found their champions, but the competition is "far" from over for the others...
In Juryo, Enho finally found the way to victory against Meisei after a difficult week... Just after them, we were probably witnessing the match that would seal the diploma of the second division: after a false start, Kazuma blocked Kazekeno's arms to take him behind the line.
In Makuuchi, Yoshinofuji ejected Ura from the second step of the podium despite a good defense of the "pink panther" who is still clowning around 🤣. Wakatakakage would do the same with Tobizaru a few minutes later.
The day ended with Kirishima and Kotoeiho, the two contenders for the Emperor's Cup had to be tied by the judges who overturn the referee's decision: the ozeki is the lone leader!!
BONUS: I mentioned them in the introduction of this summary. Jonokuchi and Jonidan, the first two categories in the sumo hierarchy, crowned the winners of the May contest. Congratulations to Shosei (Nakamura-beya) and Hakugetsuro (Asahiyama-beya).
