Jeudi 16 juillet : encore un coup de théâtre à l’IG arena !?

Le premier tiers du tournoi se clôture avec du mouvement en tête de classement et un coup dur pour la division des sekitori : blessé à la cheville, le J. n°5 Oshoumi (0-5) est contraint à l'abandon.

Du côté de la division Juryo, les juges ont dû intervenir dès le début pour inverser la décision de l'arbitre, donnant la victoire à Nishikigi face à Enho, sorti du ring en premier. De son côté, Arashifuji confirme sa domination en balayant Kagayaki.

En première division, Wakanosho reste invaincu en poussant Tobizaru à la faute. Takayasu l'emporte également face à Fujiryoga après un combat rudement disputé.

⚡Dans le duel des komusubi, Yoshinofuji prend le dessus sur Oho. Takanosho, lui, décroche enfin sa première victoire face à Atamifuji. Plus tard, Aonishiki a profité de sa prise basse pour faire sortir Kotozakura, tandis qu'Hiradoumi a terrassé Kirishima.

🌟Bien décidé à faire oublier ses récentes défaites (surtout les kinboshi concédés), le yokozuna Onosato s'est imposé avec autorité contre Churanoumi. Enfin, Hoshoryu reste en embuscade pour la course au titre en éjectant Gonoyama du dohyo.

Thursday, July 16: another “dramatic” turn of events at the IG arena!?

The first third of the tournament ended with some moves at the top of the leaderboards and a hard blow for the sekitori: the J. No.5 Oshoumi (0-5) was forced to withdraw after an ankle injury.

In the Juryo division, the judges had to interfere early to reverse the referee's decision, giving the victory to Nishikigi over Enho, who came out of the ring first. For his part, Arashifuji confirmed his supremacy by sweeping Kagayaki.

In the Makuuchi division, Wakanosho remains unbeaten by forcing Tobizaru to make mistakes. Takayasu also won against Fujiryoga after a hard fight.

⚡In the komusubi duel, Yoshinofuji got the better of Oho. Takanosho, on the other hand, finally got his first point against Atamifuji. Later, Aonishiki took advantage of his low hold to take Kotozakura out, while Hiradoumi knocked down Kirishima.

🌟Determined to make up for his recent defeats (both kinboshi conceded), the yokozuna Onosato won with authority against Churanoumi. Finally, Hoshoryu stays in ambush for the title race by ejecting Gonoyama from the dohyo.
