Mercredi 15 juillet : l'hécatombe des leaders s'accélère !

Le peloton de tête fond à vue d'œil. Après seulement quatre jours de compétition, la course au titre vire au cauchemar : il ne reste plus que cinq combattants invaincus toutes divisions sekitori confondues (trois en Makuuchi, deux en Juryo).

En deuxième ligue, Enho a parfaitement exploité son déficit de taille face à Tochitaikai (26 cm de différence). En le baladant sur le dohyo, il a fini par le déséquilibrer d'un tirage au bras salvateur. Peu de temps après, Shirokuma a dû livrer un combat acharné contre Midorifuji pour arracher la victoire et conserver sa place parmi les leaders.

Pour la ligue reine, Kotoeiho a brisé l'élan de Takayasu tandis qu'Ura a enfin débloqué son compteur de victoires en s'imposant face à Oshoma. Daieisho a lui aussi joué les trouble-fêtes en barrant la route d'Atamifuji.

Du côté des ozeki, Kirishima a profité d'une erreur de placement de Takanosho, trop proche de la bordure, pour l'expulser. Kotozakura a tenu son rang avec autorité face à Fujinokawa, qui restait pourtant sur deux exploits (kinboshi).

🌟Un peu plus tôt, Yoshinofuji et Aonishiki se sont livrés à un véritable bras de fer au corps-à-corps. À ce jeu du "premier qui lâche la prise dans le dos", c'est bien Yoshi🦖 qui l'a emporté.

⚡La fin de journée a fait vibrer l'IG Arena une fois encore. Si Hoshoryu a maîtrisé Churanoumi sans trembler, le public a littéralement chaviré lors de la défaite surprise d'Onosato (désormais à 1-3), piégé avec brio par Gonoyama.

🥊Le bonus Makushita : pour son deuxième tournoi pro seulement, le jeune Omori (Oitekaze-beya) continue d'impressionner son monde. Il l'a encore prouvé aujourd'hui en surclassant le chouchou du public, Ikazuchido.

Wednesday, July 15: the slaughter of the leaders accelerates!

The leading pack is melting away before our eyes. After only four days of competition, the race for the title turned into a nightmare: there are only five unbeaten fighters left in all Sekitori divisions (three in Makuuchi, two in Juryo).

In the second league, Enho perfectly exploited his height deficit against Tochitaikai (26 cm difference). By walking him on the dohyo, he ended up throwing off balance with a saving arm pull. Soon after them, Shirokuma had to fight hard against Midorifuji to snatch the victory and maintain his place among the leaders.

For the premier league, Kotoeiho broke Takayasu's momentum while Ura finally unlocked his counter by winning against Oshoma. Daieisho also played the spoil sport by blocking Atamifuji's way.

On the ozeki side, Kirishima took advantage of a placing error by Takanosho, too close to the edge, to send him off. Kotozakura held his position with authority against Fujinokawa, who was still on two great performances (kinboshi).

🌟Earlier, Yoshinofuji and Aonishiki engaged in a real hand-to-hand tug-of-war. Yoshi🦖 won this game of "first to let go the hold in the back".

⚡The end of the day made the IG Arena vibrate again. If Hoshoryu mastered Churanoumi without trembling, the crowd literally capsized during the surprise defeat of Onosato (now at 1-3), brilliantly trapped by Gonoyama.

🥊The Makushita bonus: for only his second pro tournament, the young Omori (Oitekaze-beya) continues to impress his world. He proved it again today by outclassing the public's favorite boy, Ikazuchido.
