Jeudi 23 juillet : une journée noire et totalement folle pour les leaders !

Cette douzième journée de tournoi a offert un véritable ascenseur émotionnel avec la chute simultanée des leaders des deux divisions sekitori. Résultat : si le tableau reste quasi statutaire en Juryo, la course au titre en Makuuchi est totalement relancée avec désormais quatre lutteurs à égalité pour la coupe de l'Empereur.

🎲En Juryo, Shonannoumi rejoint le groupe des poursuivants à 9-3 après avoir claqué Arashifuji au sol. Peu après, Toshinofuji pensait avoir pris l'ascendant sur Shirokuma, mais ce dernier a renversé la situation in extremis.

💥En Makuuchi, les rebondissements se sont enchaînés… Asanoyama maîtrisait son combat face à Shishi, mais le lion ukrainien est allé chercher au plus profond de lui-même pour faire chuter l'ancien ozeki. Takerufuji a joué la carte de la malice en plaçant un henka tranchant face à Takayasu, envoyant le "Grizzly" rouler au bas du dohyo. Atamifuji et Kotoeiho ont ensuite offert un affrontement rythmé et désordonné, qui tenait plus du cha-cha-cha que de la valse...

⚡La fin d'après-midi a viré à l'électrochoc. Kotoshoho a d'abord éjecté Aonishiki hors du cercle, avant que Kotozakura ne fasse mordre la poussière à Hoshoryu. Pour conclure en beauté, Kirishima lui a emboîté le pas en faisant chuter Onosato à son tour.

Thursday, July 23rd: a black and totally crazy day for the leaders!

This twelfth day of the tournament offered a real emotional lift with the simultaneous fall of the leaders of the two sekitori divisions. As a result, if the draw remains almost statutory in Juryo, the race for the title in Makuuchi is completely revived with four wrestlers now tied for the Emperor's Cup.

🎲In Juryo, Shonannoumi joins the 9-3 chasing group after slamming Arashifuji to the ground. Soon after, Toshinofuji thought he had the upper hand over Shirokuma, but the latter turned the tables in extremis.

💥In Makuuchi, the twists and turns followed one another... Asanoyama was in control of his fight against Shishi, but the Ukrainian lion went deep within himself to bring down the former ozeki. Takerufuji played the card of mischief by placing a sharp henka in front of Takayasu, sending the "Grizzly" rolling down the dohyo. Atamifuji and Kotoeiho then offered a rhythmic and disorderly confrontation, which was more like a cha-cha-cha than a waltz...

⚡The end of the afternoon turned into an electric shock. Kotoshoho first threw Aonishiki out of the rim, before Kotozakura made Hoshoryu bite the dust. To conclude on a high note, Kirishima followed suit by making Onosato fall.
