Jeudi soir, ils ne sont plus que des leaders solitaires dans chacune des divisions sekitori avec seulement un petit point d’avance sur leurs poursuivants.
La Juryo s’ouvrait aujourd’hui avec les deux hommes du haut de tableau. Dewanoryu s’est vite retrouvé en mauvaise posture, mais il saisit l’opportunité d’un déséquilibre de Kazuma pour l’envoyer derrière la ligne.
En Makuuchi, Wakatakakage met une nouvelle fois l’amitié avec Ichiyamamoto entre parenthèses et empoche son septième point (photo). Kotoshoho démontre qu’il est toujours une menace pour capturer la coupe de l’Empereur en laissant Yoshinofuji s’écraser au sol.
Chez les san’yaku, Takayasu sombre un peu plus dans ses mauvaises habitudes en se faisant sortir par Hiradoumi. Le sort d’Aonishiki est malheureusement scellé, Daieisho ne lui a donné aucune chance de s’échapper… Kotozakura éjecte Gonoyama avant que Kirishima prenne la première place du podium devant Hoshoryu.
