Autumn sumo calendar: key dates
L’Association a dévoilé le programme de la saison d'automne, dont l'ensemble des billets s'est déjà vendu.
Les festivités débuteront le 31 août avec la publication officielle du banzuke, suivie le lendemain par la réunion de tous les membres au Kokugikan.
Le 4 septembre, le conseil YDC supervisera un entraînement à huis clos, tandis que les yokozuna se produiront publiquement le vendredi 11 au temple Nomi-no Sukune lors de la cérémonie annuelle.
Le basho se déroulera du 13 au 27 septembre. Dans la foulée, le comité se réunira le lundi 28, avant de révéler les nouvelles promotions Juryo le mercredi 30. La remise des diplômes de l’école de sumo aura lieu le jeudi 1ᵉʳ octobre.
Enfin, la saison s'achèvera le 5 octobre avec la célébration des Grands champions au sanctuaire Meiji et les championnats AJSC, cédant la place à la grande tournée automnale (jungyo) prévue du 6 au 25 octobre.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
The Association has unveiled its autumn season programme, for which all tickets have already been sold.
The festivities will begin on August 31 with the official publication of the banzuke, followed the next day by a meeting of all members at the Kokugikan. On September 4, the YDC council will oversee a closed-door training session, whilst the yokozuna will make a public appearance on Friday 11 at Nomi-no Sukune shrine during the annual ceremony.
The basho will take place from September 13 to 27. Following on from this, the committee will meet on Monday 28, before announcing the new Juryo promotions on Wednesday 30. The sumo school’s graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 1.
Finally, the season will draw to a close on October 5 with the celebration of the Grand Champions at the Meiji shrine and the AJSC championships, giving way to the grand autumn tour (jungyo) scheduled for October 6 to 25.
