Daieisho (Oitekaze-beya) en ressort avec un score de 7-6, son mollet semble rétabli. Son "problème" reste le décalage horaire depuis Londres (15 > 19 octobre) ! Deux semaines se sont écoulées depuis leur retour au Japon, l’ancien sekiwake se lève toujours très tôt mais ne néglige pas l’entraînement. Le tournoi d’hiver est la dernière compétition de l’année, sans doute l’une des plus importantes du calendrier.

Shodai fêtera mercredi son 34^e anniversaire. Otowayama-oyakata, fka Y71 Kakuryu, a décidé de lui offrir un cadeau spécial : 34 matchs avec les autres sekitori ! Classé n°5 à Fukuoka, l’ancien ozeki est prêt à affronter la tête de banzuke.
