Il reprend doucement les basiques depuis quelques jours, sans forcer sur son articulation. Le directeur Tatsunami l’encourage à prendre le temps qu’il faut, les deux hommes pensent que son entraînement pourrait reprendre seulement fin octobre. Lorsqu’on lui demande s’il a une idée pour son retour sur un dohyo, il répond :

Je ne veux pas brusquer les choses au risque de causer une nouvelle blessure, l’année de compétition est donc finie pour moi. Le statut de sekitori n’est pas le plus important.
