Nous y sommes déjà, aujourd'hui se tenait la dernière journée du tournoi d'été. On a encore vécu une quinzaine avec du très beau sumo dans l'ensemble. Vous pourrez lire la liste complète des champions et des prix spéciaux dans une autre publication, juste après celle-ci.
En Juryo, Wakaikari (12-3) se qualifie pour une possible manche décisive en se sacrifiant contre Daiamami (7-8). Kusano (13-2) ne lui laissera pas ce plaisir en repoussant Tsurugisho (7-8) comme vous le voyez en photo.
En Makuuchi, Aonishiki (11-4) projette Sadanoumi (10-5) et réitère son score de mars à Osaka. Plus tard, Wakatakakage (12-3) inflige un make-koshi à Tobizaru (7-8) avant que Takayasu (6-9) fasse rouler Kirishima (11-4).
On termine le Natsu basho avec le match que tout le monde attendait, certains diront même que c'est une reprise du duel entre Hakuho et Terunofuji en juillet 2021 à Nagoya : le yokozuna Hoshoryu (12-3) prive l'ozeki Onosato (14-1) du zen-yusho [score parfait] !
Le bonus de cette finale est le playoff de la Jonidan : Mineyaiba soulève Tenrosei pour le sortir du dohyo.

We are already there, today was the last day of the Summer tournament. We lived another fortnight with a very good sumo overall. The full list of champions and special prizes will be included in a separate post just after this one.
In Juryo, Wakaikari (12-3) qualified for a possible decisive set by sacrificing himself against Daiamami (7-8). Kusano (13-2) won't let him do that as he fended Tsurugisho off (7-8) as you can see in the photo.
In Makuuchi, Aonishiki (11-4) threw Sadanoumi (10-5) and repeated his score from March in Osaka. Later, Wakatakakage (12-3) inflicted a make-koshi on Tobizaru (7-8) before Takayasu (6-9) rolled Kirishima (11-4).
We end the Natsu basho with the match that everyone was waiting for, some will even say that it's a replay of the bout of July 2021 between Hakuho and Terunofuji in Nagaoya: the yokozuna Hoshoryu (12-3) robs the ozeki Onosato (14-1) his zen-yusho [perfect score]!
The bonus for this finale is the Jonidan playoff. Mineyaiba lifts Tenrosei out of the dohyo.
