Le sort de la Juryo n'est toujours pas réglé samedi soir, le suspens sera donc levé au senshuraku comme pour la Jonidan. Quelques minutes avant son match, le Jonidan 100 Satonofuji (2-5) a révélé qu'il prenait sa retraite, j'en consacrerai une publication sur la page des actualités.
Wakaikari (11-3) laisse Miyanokaze (6-8) s'écrouler au sol, ce qui lui permet de rester en lice pour le diplôme de la deuxième division. Le premier prétendant Kusano (12-2) conserve l'avantage en sortant Tohakuryu. Demain, on pourrait avoir une manche décisive si K. perd contre Tsurugisho et W. gagne contre Daiamami. Dans le cas contraire, le disciple d'Isegahama sera champion au terme de la série régulière.
En Makuuchi, ce match était attendu par beaucoup de monde, bien qu'il soit leur premier : Kirishima (11-3) prouve son ancienneté sur Hakuoho (8-6). Juste après eux, Onosato (14-0) nous montre encore un aperçu de son talent en écartant Daieisho (9-5). Pour terminer la journée, Hoshoryu (11-3) repousse Kotozakura (8-6).
Le bonus d'aujourd'hui est un ancien sekitori : Yago (4-3) expulse Yoshiyasu (3-4) en Makushita.
