Nous voici déjà au nakabi, c’est-à-dire la mi-parcours de ce tournoi de la nouvelle année ! Le Kokugikan a reçu la visite de la famille impériale dans l’après-midi, mais sur le dohyo nous avons eu la surprise de deux kinboshi. L’échappée Makuuchi retombe ainsi à deux hommes alors que la Juryo en compte quatre.
Dans la deuxième division, le vétéran Sadanoumi retrouve la place qu’il occupait au début de la compétition en plaquant Meisei derrière la ligne. Takerufuji bloque ensuite le bras de Fujiseiun pour l’amener au sol.
En première division, Abi regagne la tête de course en étranglant Tokihayate, qui n’a d’autre choix que reculer en dehors de la zone. Kirishima est dans le même cas, il envoie Aonishiki au bord du dohyo.
Comme je l’annonçais en préambule de cette article, les yokozuna ont délivré dimanche deux tickets d’or ! Hoshoryu se fait d’abord surprendre par Daieisho avant qu’Hakunofuji se lance à toute vitesse sur Onosato.

We are already at the nakabi, the halfway point of this New year's tournament! The Kokugikan received a visit from the imperial family in the afternoon, but on the dohyo we had the surprise of two kinboshi! The Makuuchi breakaway then fell back to two men while the Juryo has four.
In the second division, the veteran Sadanoumi regained the place he occupied at the beginning of the competition by tackling Meisei behind the line. In the last match, Takerufuji blocked Fujiseiun's arm to bring him to the ground.
In the first division, Abi regained the lead by strangling Tokihayate, who had no choice but to drop back outside the zone. Kirishima is in the same situation, sending Aonishiki at the edge of the dohyo.
As I announced in the preamble to this article, the yokozuna delivered two golden tickets on Sunday! First, Hoshoryu is surprised by Daieisho before Hakunofuji rushed at Onosato.
