Le premier tournoi de 2026 s’achève ce dimanche soir et les 609 rikishi qui ont participé à cette quinzaine nous ont encore offert de fortes émotions ! Vous retrouverez sur une autre page la liste complète des champions et des prix spéciaux, mais revoyons un peu les grandes lignes d’aujourd’hui.

En Juryo, Wakanosho mène une dure bataille contre Fujiryoga avant de lui donner un violent coup d’épaule. Le disciple de Tokiwayama-beya dédie alors sa victoire à ses deux directeurs (voir mon article du samedi 24-1).

En Makuuchi, Atamifuji reste dans la course à la coupe de l’Empereur en fonçant sur Oshoumi qui ne peut que reculer derrière la ligne. Même s’il n’avait plus aucune chance du podium, Kirishima réussit à soulever Abi pour l’éliminer.

Dans le duel des ozeki, "le taureau" Aonishiki réclame la manche décisive en dominant largement Kotozakura ! Chez les yokozuna, Hoshoryu agrippe très rapidement le mawashi d’Onosato pour le faire sortir de la zone.

On arrive enfin aux playoffs. Aonishiki est d’abord déstabilisé par les 42 kg qui le séparent d’Atamifuji, mais l’ukrainien renverse la situation. En bonus, je vous laisse le championnat Jonokuchi qui s’est joué entre les deux "frères" d’Isegahama-beya : Aoifuji et Asahifuji.

In Juryo, Wakanosho fought a hard battle against Fujiryoga before giving him a violent shoulder blow. Tokiwayama-beya’s pupil then dedicated his victory to his two directors (see my article of Saturday 24-1).

In Makuuchi, Atamifuji remains in the race for the Emperor's cup by rushing at Oshoumi who can only fall behind the line. Even though he no longer had a chance to go to the podium, Kirishima managed to lift Abi to eliminate him.

In the duel of the ozeki, "the bull" Aonishiki claimed the decisive set by largely dominating Kotozakura! For the yokozuna, Hoshoryu grabbed Onosato's mawashi quickly to get him out of the area.

We finally got to the playoffs. Aonishiki was initially destabilized by the 42 kg that separated him from Atamifuji, but the Ukrainian turned the situation around. As a bonus, I give you the Jonokuchi championship which was played between the two "brothers" of Isegahama-beya: Aoifuji and Asahifuji.
