Mardi soir, ils ne sont plus que sept en tête de la Makuuchi tandis que la Juryo se retrouve à cinq. Une mauvaise nouvelle est arrivée juste avant que la Maezumo entre sur le dohyo vers 9:00 JPT. Abi (0-3) doit abandonner le tournoi à cause de douleurs dorsales, le rapport médical indique au minimum une semaine de repos.
En deuxième division, Fujitensei conserve son avantage malgré une petite frayeur contre Hakuyozan. Il en va de même pour Kazuma face à Shimazuumi.
Dans la première division, il faudra la confirmation d’un mono-ii pour que Tobizaru gagne son match contre Asanoyama (l’ancien ozeki a posé les orteils au-delà de la zone). L’un des héros locaux, Gonoyama, poursuit son chemin dans l’échappée après une charge rapide sur Shishi.
Quelques minutes avant la fin des combats, Fujinokawa décroche le premier kinboshi de sa carrière en attirant Onosato (0-3...) au sol. De son côté, Hoshoryu réussit à maîtriser Yoshinofuji en l’agrippant par le cou.

On Tuesday evening, they are only seven leaders in Makuuchi while the Juryo boys found themselves at five. Bad news arrived just before the Maezumo entered the dohyo at 9:00 JPT. Abi (0-3) has to withdraw from the tournament because of back pain, the medical report indicates at least a week's rest.
In the second division, Fujitensei kept his advantage despite a small scare against Hakuyozan. The same goes for Kazuma against Shimazuumi.
In the first division, it will take the confirmation of a mono-ii for Tobizaru to win his match against Asanoyama (the former ozeki put his toes beyond the zone). One of the local heroes, Gonoyama, continues his way in the breakaway after a quick charge on Shishi.
A few minutes before the end of the fights, Fujinokawa caught the first kinboshi of his career by pulling Onosato (0-3…) to the ground meanwhile Hoshoryu managed to subdue Yoshinofuji by grabbing him by the neck.
