十四日 Haru basho, fourteenth day
Nous entrons samedi dans le dernier weekend de la compétition de printemps. Dans la matinée, Wakatakakage (8-6) a fait savoir qu’il quitte le tournoi à cause d’une blessure au coude survenue jeudi. La coupe de l’Empereur a trouvé son champion aujourd’hui, mais il a fallu attendre la toute dernière minute pour le découvrir !
En Juryo, Wakanosho prétend toujours à son deuxième diplôme en sortant Toshinofuji. Un peu plus tard, Dewanoryu paie le prix de sa mauvaise posture en se faisant aplatir par Ryuden.
En Makuuchi, Atamifuji expulse Kotoshoho et l’élimine du "sprint final" avant qu’Ichiyamamoto tire Takayasu au sol. Malgré sa défaite contre Aonishiki, Kirishima s’assure provisoirement le trophée et un ticket pour son retour au statut d’ozeki !
La journée se conclut avec Hoshoryu, le yokozuna se fait surprendre par Kotozakura et perd sa chance de réclamer une manche décisive demain…

We enter the last weekend of the spring competition on Saturday. In the morning, Wakatakakage (8-6) announced that he is leaving the tournament because of an elbow injury suffered on Thursday. The Emperor's cup found its champion today, but we had to wait until the very last minute to find out!
In Juryo, Wakanosho is still pretending to his second diploma by getting rid of Toshinofuji. A little later, Dewanoryu paid the price for his bad posture by being crushed by Ryuden.
In Makuuchi, Atamifuji kicked Kotoshoho out and eliminated him from the "final sprint" before Ichiyamamoto pulled Takayasu to the ground. Despite his defeat against Aonishiki, Kirishima provisionally secured the trophy and a ticket to his return to the ozeki status!
The day ended with Hoshoryu, the yokozuna was surprised by Kotozakura and lost his chance to fight a decisive match tomorrow...
