Vendredi soir, les têtes de course n’ont pas bougé. Le tournoi Makushita a déjà couronné son champion en la personne de Wakanofuji (Kasugano-beya). L’Association nous a également fait part du départ en retraite de Chiyosakae (actuel Jonidan 3, 5-2) et beaucoup de personnes pensent que Chiyomaru (Sandanme 1, 4-3) en fera bientôt l’annonce… 😨

En Juryo, Dewanoryu va puiser toutes ses forces sur la ligne afin d’éliminer Daiseizan.

En Makuuchi, Atamifuji résiste contre Gonoyama sur la bordure avant d’envoyer le héros local de l’autre côté du dohyo. Avec deux points d’avance sur ses poursuivants, Kirishima reste le "mâle dominant" à la veille du weekend malgré les nombreux assauts d’Oho.

On aurait aimé voir cette performance de l’ukrainien plus tôt dans la compétition… Aonishiki gagne le deuxième duel de sa rivalité inter-ozeki contre Kotozakura (5-1 au total) ! On termine avec Hoshoryu, le yokozuna plaque Kotoshoho au sol.

Les spectateurs ont choisi leurs trois étoiles pour la treizième journée...
