Will Onosato be one of the Great ones?
La promotion du disciple de Kisenosato au titre suprême fait beaucoup parler d’elle au Japon depuis dimanche : assiste-t-on à la naissance de Dai-nosato, l’un des plus grands parmi les Grands champions ? (le premier kanji 大 de son shikona peut se lire des deux façons)
The promotion of Kisenosato’s disciple to the supreme title has been much talked about in Japan since Sunday: are we witnessing the birth of Dai-nosato, one of the greatest among the Great champions? (the first kanji 大 of his shikona can be read both ways)
La cérémonie s’est tenue ce mercredi matin à la Nishonoseki-beya, l’Association était représentée par les oyakata Dewanoumi et Hidenoyama. Onosato a eu un discours de présentation quelque peu différent de ce que l’on entend habituellement :
Je poursuivrais l’entraînement acharné pour ne pas salir ce titre, et j’aspire à devenir le seul et unique yokozuna.
De nombreuses personnes se réfèrent au chiffre 5 dans "soixante-quinze" pour argumenter leur idée citée en introduction. En effet, on a pu constater par le passé des performances exceptionnelles avec les yokozuna qui ont eu un 5 dans leur numéro (photos en bas de l'article) :
Futabayama, le 35e (1937-1945)
Wakanohana I, le 45e (1958-1962)
Kitanoumi, le 55e (1974-1985)
Takanohana II, le 65e (1994-2003)

The ceremony was held this Wednesday morning at Nishonoseki-beya, the Association was represented by the oyakata Dewanoumi and Hidenoyama. Onosato had a presentation speech somewhat different from what we usually hear:
I will continue the relentless training so as not to sully this title, and I aspire to become the one and only yokozuna.
Many people refer to the number 5 in "seventy-five" to argue their idea cited in the introduction. Indeed, we have seen in the past exceptional performances with the yokozuna who had a 5 in their number (photos at the bottom of this post):
