ENGLISH TRANSLATION

The day after his victory in the winter tournament, Kotozakura presented the traditional interview of the champion from the Sadogatake-beya premises in Fukuoka.

He only became aware of his championship at the end of the day, when he returned to the locker room for the photo with the cup surrounded by his koenkai. It is a moment that he saw many times during his childhood and that his grandfather told him about a lot.

His defeat on the third day against Oho was the driving force behind an intense training that kept him going until the last day. He wants to continue his efforts to equal - and make proud - his predecessor Kotozakura I by receiving the 74th white rope of the yokozuna.

You might think he was more docile with his family than his disciples, but as a child Director Sadogatake considered me a rikishi once I was on the dohyo. When my father took on this role, he did the same. So, I avoided any conflict with them as soon as I put on the mawashi [laughs].
