Mudoho's new kesho-mawashi
À l’approche du tournoi de mai, le nouveau Juryo Mudoho a reçu son premier tablier de cérémonie en présence de son directeur, Otake-oyakata.
C’est le maire de Teshikaga-cho, située en Hokkaido, qui lui a offert cette semaine. FYI, cette ville est particulière pour Mudoho et sa famille car c’est le lieu de naissance de leur grand-père Taiho.
Le motif représente le symbole municipal à l’effigie du Mont Iwo (volcan). On y voit aussi quinze étoiles associées à la quinzaine d’un tournoi, mais une fois combinées elles forment le mot 夢 /yume/ (rêve) que le yokozuna répétait beaucoup.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
In the run-up to the May tournament, the new Juryo Mudoho received his first ceremonial apron in the presence of his director, Otake-oyakata.
It was the mayor of Teshikaga-cho, located in Hokkaido, who offered him this week. FYI, this town is special for Mudoho and his family as it is the birthplace of their grandfather Taiho.
The design depicts the municipal symbol of Mount Iwo (volcano). There are also fifteen stars associated with the fortnight of a tournament, but when combined they form the word 夢 /yume/ (dream) that the yokozuna used to say a lot.
