Jeudi, on est déjà à la fin du premier tiers de la compétition. Alors que le trio de tête Juryo s'incline pour redevenir un quintet, l'échappée Makuuchi perd Endo et se retrouve à quatre hommes toujours invaincus. En dehors du dohyo, on a appris une triste nouvelle : l'ancien komusubi Hokutofuji prend sa retraite, mais il devient Oyama-oyakata (j'aborderai ce sujet dans une publication lisible sur la page des informations).
Tohakuryu laisse Nabatame charger et le tire au mawashi pour le sortir de la zone. De son côté, Kusano rattrape son retard en expulsant Hakuyozan.
"Par Toutatis [...] ce garçon m'étonnera toujours !" (Astérix & Cléopâtre) 😉 : Aonishiki balaie Midorifuji qui recherche désespérément un point... Plus tard, Wakamotoharu déclenchera son compteur en repoussant Takayasu. Onosato reste concentré sur son objectif d'un quatrième trophée en éjectant Tamawashi. En fin de journée, Hoshoryu veut oublier les deux kinboshi qu'il a subi et déséquilibre Gonoyama.
Le bonus de ce soir est consacré à deux anciens de l'Association qui combattent en Jonidan. Terunosato (47 ans) bat Satonofuji (48 ans).

On Thursday, we are already at the end of the first third of the competition. While the leading trio in Juryo lost to become a quintet again, the Makuuchi breakaway lost Endo and found itself down to four men still undefeated. Apart from the dohyo, we have learned sad news: the former komusubi Hokutofuji is retiring, but he is becoming Oyama-oyakata (I will discuss this subject in a post on the news page).
Tohakuryu lets Nabatame charge and pulls his mawashi to get him out of the area. For his part, Kusano catches up by sending Hakuyozan off.
"By Toutatis [...] this boy will always amaze me!" (Asterix & Cleopatra) 😉: Aonishiki sweeps Midorifuji away who is desperately looking for a point... Later, Wakamotoharu will start his counter by pushing Takayasu. Onosato remains focused on the objective of a fourth trophy by ejecting Tamawashi. At the end of the day, Hoshoryu wants to forget the two kinboshi he has suffered and unbalances Gonoyama.
Tonight's bonus is dedicated to two former members of the Association who fight in Jonidan. Terunosato (47 years old) beats Satonofuji (48 years old)!
