Samedi 18 juillet : la bataille au sommet est totalement relancée !

Au terme de ce septième jour de compétition, le classement de la division Makuuchi est complètement chamboulé : ils sont désormais sept hommes à se partager l’échappée. La journée a malheureusement été marquée par le forfait de Wakanosho (5-2), blessé au genou la veille lors de son duel face à Fujiryoga.

En Juryo, Arashifuji "dicte toujours sa loi" et poursuit sa domination en écartant Hitoshi. Juste après, le vétéran Tamawashi a prouvé face à Shirokuma qu'il avait encore de la ressource et du répondant.

💥Du côté de la première division, Nishikifuji n'a offert aucun cadeau à Shishi, le renvoyant directement aux vestiaires. Plus tard, Aonishiki a parfaitement anticipé le henka de Fujinokawa (esquive latérale) pour l'emporter et se maintenir solidement dans le groupe de tête.

⚡Kirishima a dû s'employer dans un combat acharné contre Kotoshoho, mais a fini par trouver la faille pour l'envoyer au sol. Un peu plus tôt, Kotozakura semblait totalement dépassé. Corrigé par Atamifuji, l'ozeki affiche désormais un bilan inquiétant de 3-4, se rapprochant dangereusement de la relégation.

🌟Enfin, Onosato redore son blason de yokozuna en ne faisant qu'une bouchée d'Hakunofuji. Dans la foulée, Hoshoryu a plié son duel contre Hiradoumi en un clin d'œil pour clore cette septième journée.

Saturday, July 18: the battle for the peak is wide open again!

At the end of this seventh day of competition, the Makuuchi leaderboard is completely turned upside down: they are now seven men to share the breakaway. The day was unfortunately marked by the withdrawal of Wakanosho (5-2), who injured his knee the day before during his duel against Fujiryoga.

In Juryo, Arashifuji still “dictates his law” and continues his domination by dismissing Hitoshi. Immediately after, the veteran Tamawashi proved against Shirokuma that he still has resources and response.

💥In the first division, Nishikifuji did not offer Shishi any gifts, sending him straight to the locker room. Later, Aonishiki perfectly anticipated Fujinokawa's henka (side dodge) to win and stay firmly in the leading group.

⚡Kirishima had to put in a fierce fight against Kotoshoho but eventually found the flaw to send him to the ground. A little earlier, Kotozakura seemed totally overwhelmed. Corrected by Atamifuji, the ozeki now have a worrying record of 3-4, getting dangerously close to demotion.

🌟Finally, Onosato restored his yokozuna image by making short work of Hakunofuji. In the aftermath, Hoshoryu folded his duel against Hiradoumi in the blink of an eye to close this seventh day.
