San’yaku
Alors qu'Hoshoryu entre dans l'Histoire comme 74ᵉ ykozuna, Oho accède au rang de sekiwake pour la première fois de sa carrière.
On retrouve également Kirishima chez les komusubi.

Maegashira
On remarque que les deux frères Onami ont été destitués et se placent aujourd'hui exæquos en n° 1. Ichiyamamoto marque son plus beau classement en devenant n° 4.
Shishi, vainqueur du tournoi de la deuxième division en janvier, se hisse à la 13ᵉ position. Cinq hommes vont l'accompagner, dont son compatriote Aonishiki qui débutera chez les "Grands" en tant que n° 15.

Juryo
Cinq rikishi sont relégués, dont Hokutofuji qui dégringole le plus (neuf rangs en moins à cause de son forfait en début d'année). Dans un même temps, ils sont six à atteindre leur meilleure place.
Félicitations aux trois nouveaux sekitori : Kusano, Otsuji et Wakanosho sont suivis dans leur ascension par Hitoshi et Kazekeno.
FYI, Asanoyama est annoncé en Sandanme 21 pour son retour en compétition. Espérons qu'il pourra combattre et retrouver les forces nécessaires pour redevenir sekitori.

While Hoshoryu made history as the 74th yokozuna, Oho became a sekiwake for the first time in his career. Kirishima is also found among the komusubi.

It's noticeable that the two Onami brothers have been deposed and are now tied for the No. 1 ranking. Ichiyamamoto scored his best poqition by becoming No. 4. Sishi, winner of the second league in January, climbs to the 13th place. Five men are accompanying him, including his compatriot Aonishiki who would make his debut in the "Greats" as No. 15.

Juryo
Five men were relegated, such as Hokutofuji who fell the most (minus 9 seats because of his withdrawal at the beginning of the year. However, six others reached their best position. Congratulations to the three new sekitori : Kusano, Otsuji and Wakanosho are followed in their ascent by Hitoshi and Kazekeno.
FYI, Asanoyama is announced in Sandanme 21 for his return to competition. Let's hope he can fight and regain his necessary strengh to become a sekitori again.
